AOC Announces FreeSync Displays, Prices Starting From $270
Ever since AMD announced FreeSync to counter Nvidia’s G-Sync monitors, people have been extremely eager to get their hands on a cheap display that offers the same benefit as a G-Sync display but without the manufacturer restriction. Back in June, AOC revealed two FreeSync gaming displays, the 24” G2460PF and the 27” G2770PF but without a price tag.
Well the company has now finally revealed the price of both the displays, with the G2460PF costing just $270 while G2770PF for $360. This might seem expensive for a 1080p display at first but when compared with the cheapest G-Sync monitor, Acer’s XB240H, the G2460PF is $115 cheaper!
Both displays feature 1080p TN screens with 144Hz refresh rate and 1-ms response time which makes them amazing for gaming purposes. Along with these, they are both equipped with a USB hub, front facing speakers and height, tilt and swivel adjustments.
These aren’t however the only cheap FreeSync displays in the market. Samsung also revealed the $250 priced S24E370DL which features a 1080p PLS panel but has a maximum refresh rate of only 60Hz.
With prices as good as these, it’s only a matter of time before people starting opting for FreeSync displays instead of normal ones for their gaming needs. Nvidia will need to announce some really amazing competitive prices if G-Sync is to stand a chance against FreeSync in the future.
