iPhone 7 Rumored to Feature Water and Dustproof Design
It’s only just been a week since the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been made available, and rumors surrounding Apple’s next year’s flagship are already starting to surface.
According to a source from Chinese social networking site Weibo (via Mac Otakara), the next version of iPhone, said to be called the iPhone 7, will feature several design changes that are a significant departure from the current gen models by the Cupertino company.
The source claims that the iPhone 7 will feature a waterproof and dustproof design. According to a Weibo post, Apple is planning on adopting an entirely new casing material for its 2016 flagship. The material would make the iPhone body strengthened enough that users have to worry less about dropping their devices in liquids.
It’s unclear what the new material could be, but the rumors suggest that Apple has already developed the first prototype of the device.
Another Weibo post claims that the iPhone 7 will feature a “completely flat” LCD panel. Unfortunately, the post doesn’t reveal much, but it’s definitely something worth noting.
These rumors should all be taken with a grain of salt given that we are just now an entire year away from Apple revealing the iPhone 7.
