ASRock Unveils its First “Skylake” Mainboard with DDR3 and DDR4 memory slots
ASRock has quietly announced their latest motherboard for Intel Skylake, which holds both DDR3 and DDR4 memory slots. Named as ASRock B150M Combo-G, the new motherboard is based on the Intel B150 core-logic and arrives with the same LGA 1151 socket.
The B150M Combo-G mainboard features a number of improvements over the previous Z77 and H77 chipsets for mini-ITXs. For example, it is built on high-density glass fabric printed circuit board and packs six-phase digital voltage regulator module with high-quality solid-state inductors.
The new micro-ATX motherboard, however, doesn’t support overclocking of CPUs, as it is specific to the Intel Z170 – which is specially built for the Skylake-K series. Also, the DDR3/DDR3L and DDR4 memory modules do not work simultaneously.
The ASRock B150M Combo-G mainboard is equipped with PCI Express x16 slots, one PCI Express x1 slot, six Serial ATA-6Gb/s ports, one SATA Express port, six USB 3.0 connectors, Intel Gigabit Ethernet controller, and 7.1-channel audio based on the ALC887 audio codec with ELNA audio caps. Though it does not include USB 3.1 Type-C ports or DisplayPorts.
ASRock has not shared the pricing and availability information, but the product is expected to be affordable since it lacks some features of the full Z170 “Skylake” chipset.
