Intel Announces New Compute Stick with Core M Processors
Intel’s HDMI Dongle Compute Stick originally came with Atom processor but the company has silently announced that they are also upgrading the dongle alongside all other products that are getting beefed up thanks to Skylake.
It has been confirmed that the Compute Stick is now going to get Core M3 and Core M5 processors that are expected to give it a speed boost that most of us already wanted. There would hardly be someone who is content with the comparatively slower Atom processor.
Two primary reasons that have made it possible for Skylake processors to be included in such a small sized product are that the Core M processors take up a lot less surface area as compared to the previous versions and also their power consumption is quite less.
The size being taken up by the processor (or in other words, the size that could be given to the in the size of the dongle) was the primary reason why everyone had to make do with Atom. However, the Compute Stick is about to get much, much better now!
So far the exact launch date of the new HDMI dongle has not been shared but it is expected that they will be on sale by early next year.
