Sony to Unveil Three new Xperia Z5 models on September 2nd, including Xperia Z5 Premium with a 4K screen
Sony is set to host a media event on September 2nd, just a couple of days ahead of the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany. Now, according to a report from PhoneArena, the smartphone maker will unveil three next-gen Xperia Z models at the event.
The three smartphones, as revealed by the anonymous tipster, include Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium.
The flagship Xperia Z5 will sport a 5.2-inch display with resolution measuring at 1080×1920 pixels, whereas the Z5 Compact will feature a smaller 4.6-inch screen offering HD resolution of 720×1280 pixels.
Under the hood, the Z5 packs an octa-core Snapdragon 810 chip clocked at 2GHz, along with 3GB RAM, Adreno 430 graphics unit, and 32GB of internal storage. The handset boasts a 23-megapixel rear camera, coupled with an 8-megapixel camera at the front to handle selfies and video chats.
From the screenshot of the Z5 smartphone, the Power and Volume keys are positioned far off at the right side of the phone.
As for the 5.5-inch Xperia Z5 Premium, it will be the company’s first smartphone with a 4K screen (which yields over 800 pixels per inch), according to a leaked video from Clubic.com. On top of the 4K screen, the device features a 23-megapixel camera with a 0.03 second autofocus and 5X digital zoom.
The Z5 Premium will be just as waterproof and dustproof as the Xperia Z3+ model, but to our fascination, the micro-USB connector is waterproof, even without a cover.
The source also claims that the Z5 and its other variants will have fingerprint scanner, along with the Xperia logo engraved into the side for a more premium look.
