It Looks Like AMD is Launching R9 Nano on August 27
This is certainly a good news for all of you who prefer small form factor systems as compared to bigger ones as it is being reported that AMD will be launching its R9 Nano graphics card in less than a week’s time.
A Thailand based industry insider has outed the launch date to be August 27 which means in exactly five days from now, you could be purchasing your new, compact graphics card.
It was already known that the R9 Nano will come out before September but with August almost ended, people had started to wonder when would the release take place.
While the graphics card is pretty compact – looking just a little bigger than a standard smartphone except for the thickness of course – it is expected that the card will still manage performance matching the GTX 980.
The Fiji based card is said to run at 175W and attain twice the performance as the R9 290X which in turn makes it almost the most efficient product of AMD.
All this is really interesting but there still is one thing that fans will need reassurance for i.e. the supply situation of R9 Nano graphics card – hoping that it will be better than AMD’s other cards.
So yes, you will probably get this one on August 27 but it looks like you will have to wait a little more for the pricing details.
