MSI Releases its First Teaser for the GTX 980 Ti Lightning
NVIDIA recently unleashed the mighty 980 Ti upon us and since then, we have seen plenty of variants based on the reference model.
We recently talked about the K|NGP|N 980 Ti, being made in partnership with EVGA. The beautiful card features a healthy amount of copper heatpipes and fins are mounted on the custom EVGA designed PCB, along with a few extra cooling plates for VRAM and RAM.
It was only a matter of time before we saw some competition for the likes for K|NGP|N 980 Ti. That competition has come in the form of MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning.
MSI has released its first teaser for the upcoming Geforce GTX 980 Ti Lightning.
While the teaser does not reveal any details about the upcoming graphics card, we can expect it to feature the craziest cooling solution ever, along with strong VRM and plenty of overclocking friendly features.
The card was announced at Gamescom but no prototype is revealed by the makers for now. However, as always we should expect leaked images and performance benchmarks in the coming weeks/months.
980 Ti in question is expected to feature a custom PCB with more power phases. Also, rumor has it that MSI 980 Ti will support a base clock of 1217MHz with a boost of 1342MHz. However, this is yet to be confirmed by MSI.
Just like its specs, its price remains a mystery as well. If we were to guess, it will be somewhere around $850+, could be more. In short, expect premium pricing.
We’ll let you know as soon as more details are shared with us. Till then, feel free to speculate in the comments below.
