First OnePlus 2 Shipments for North America Delayed by 2-3 weeks
The OnePlus 2 hasn’t even begun shipping yet and “production schedules” are already causing its North American tour to begin almost a month later than intended.
The company today announced in a blog post:
“The production of the OnePlus 2 is in full swing and we’re excited to get the OnePlus 2 in your hands. However we do want to tell our users in North America that due to production schedules, shipping to the States and Canada will commence 2-3 weeks after shipments to Europe.”
OnePlus doesn’t go into further details about the delay, but the company was quick to point out that it won’t affect the ordering of their self-proclaimed “2016 flagship killer.” Users can still use their invite codes to purchase the new flagship device at oneplus.net starting August 11.
It added: “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Although some fans may be disappointed to hear this news, we would rather be transparent about the situation.”
In theory, the customers in China, Europe, and India will be the first ones to receive the OnePlus 2, even as early as this week. The OnePlus fans in US and Canada, then, will get their hands on the phone in early September.
Next in line are Southeast Asian countries which still have to wait a lot longer up to the end of the year.
The OnePlus 2 features a 5.5 inch screen with 1080p IPS LCD display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor and feature a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM in the 64 GB variant and 3GB RAM in the 16 GB version.
The phone sports a 13 megapixel rear camera coupled by a 5 MP front camera with ‘distortion free’ feature. It also feature the new USB Type-C connector, a super-fast fingerprint sensor, as well as the new Oxygen OS.
