Leaks Show Samsung Galaxy S7 Uses Snapdragon 820
The news that Samsung ditched Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 in favor of their own Exynos 7420 when manufacturing Galaxy S6 was an intresting move, but it appears Samsung Galaxy S7 will be making amends and use Snapdragon 820.
It is almost conventional that details leak for flagship releases of mobile companies and Samsung is no different. According to Weibo, the company is actively testing the smartphone with Qualcomm’s SoC.
Some documentation has been leaked that evidences there could be truth in the news regarding Samsung Galaxy S7. The images attached below don’t explicitly mention it but they do mention MSM8996 which is the model number of Snapdragon 820.
In order to prove that the first image is related to the testing being done on Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone, they have also shared the second document that accompanies where the codename of Samsung Galaxy S7, Jungfrau, is mentioned.
On the other hand there has been no solid claim by the company that suggests Samsung is going to stick with Exynos when it comes to S7. Galaxy Note 5 is a different story though where rumors state that Exynos 7422 is going to be used.
We have however, reported on a rumor that they were testing both Exynos and Snapdragon 820 back in July this year.
In light of this newly found evidence, though, I would think that the chances of Qualcomm this one are brighter.
