New Tool Allows AMD R9 Fury To Transform Into R9 Fury X
It looks like AMD failed to learn anything when people were able to unlock R9 290 cards and turn them into their powerful variant.
No measures have been taken, which allowed a new tool to be available and create a similar situation for AMD. The tool has the ability to potentially unlock any AMD Hawaii, Tonga or Fiji based graphic card.
According to reports, a user has already unlocked R9 Fury and is now enjoying R9 Fury X level power. The tool in question is called CUINFO, and it helps unlock CUs, that are locked during manufacturing.
This is done in order to create a lower end version of the flagship card; in this case, R9 Fury.

56 of 64 CUs are active. HW locks: 8 (R/W) / SW locks: 0 (R/W).
8 CU’s are disabled by HW lock, override is possible at your own risk.
The Xs above show the locked CUs in R9 Fury, if you are lucky and are able to unlock all of them. Congratulations, you got yourself an R9 Fury X. Each CU has 64 stream processors, getting all 8 to unlock is unlikely, but not impossible.
If you are willing to give this a try, go ahead and let us know of the results.
