Intel Skylake i7-6700K and i5-6600K Receive Pricing at Local Retailers
The new processors are part of Intel’s 6th gen Skylake-S series. Both are quad-core CPUs, and are based on Intel’s new 14nm micro-architecture. Both CPUs ship with support for dual-channel DDR4 and DDR3L memory, as well as Intel HD Graphics 530.
Here’s the pricing for both the Core i7 and i5 CPUs:
Although we knew that the new CPUs will be expensive than their international prices, the flagship i7-6700k was supposed to be cheaper than its predecessor, the i7-4790K “Devil’s Canyon.”
For reference, the i7-4790K is R4, 911 and R4, 911 at RebelTech and Wootare respectively. That means the i7-6700K and i5-6600K are both around R1000 pricier than what is available internationally. It’s not by much, but still a little more than we were expecting.
The recent Skylake review shows considerable improvements over Haswell and Broadwell family. But keep in mind that going Skylake will mean a new motherboard, new memory and the CPU of course.
