MSI Unveils Cost-effective GTX 980 Ti Armor2X Graphics Card
MSI has added yet another graphics card in its Geforce GTX 900 series lineup, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti Armor2X. This is the company’s second cost-effective offering in the GTX 980 Ti range, besides the GTX 980 Ti OC V1.
Unlike the OC V1, this particular card however comes with a dual-fan cooling solution that is designed to match the contrasting black and white color scheme of MSI’s Krait series motherboards, along with a black PCB.
Further, as the name suggests, the card features an Armor 2X Thermal Design that delivers more airflow than traditional single fan thermal design, paired with huge heat sink for better heat dissipation.
The new GTX 980 Ti Armor2X graphics card is factory-overclocked at 1178MHz, with a 1279MHz for the GPU Boost clock. The 6GB memory remains reference based at 7010 MHz (GDDR5-effective) across a 384-bit wide memory bus.
As for the display output configuration, the card packs a DVI, HDMI 2.0, and DisplayPort 1.2 connectors, while it features a combination of 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe connectors for power.
Other key features include:
- Propeller Blade Technology: Produce 20% more airflow with less noise than traditional fan design.
- Airflow Control technology: Deflects more airflow to heatpipes and improves airflow efficiency.
- Military Class 4 Components: Certified to MIL-STD-810G standards for top stability and quality.
Pricing or the availability details have not been revealed yet, but you can expect the card to retail at around €650.
