Corsair 3666 MHz DDR4 Memory Kit Launched, Who is Getting One?
Alright people so the latest news is that Corsair is launching its first ever retail 3666 MHz DDR4 memory kit, in fact the company has already launched it.
The Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (i.e. four 4GB) 3666 MHz memory kit can be purchased directly from Newegg with CL18 timings. They have stocked the memory kit and will be available for purchase at $1049.99 which is massive.
CMD16GX4M4B3666C18 is the model number for 3666 MHz DDR4 memory kit and the 16 GB kit has a timing of 18-19-19-39 with a voltage of 1.35V with 3666 MHz. For those who are really into such memory kits with some kickass advantages might be willing to spend this much on it despite the fact that it will cost them around $1050.
Another thing worth noting is the color scheme of the kit, apparently the images of the modules featured on Newegg follow the same color theme as that of Gigabyte X99-SOC Champion motherboard. We cannot be sure but it is possible that the kit was designed to go with the X99-SOC Champion motherboard.
The memory kit is supported by Intel XMP 2.0 and it is expected to work on motherboards containing Intel X99 and Intel Z170. If we are not wrong the 3666 MHz DDR4 memory kit is using Samsung 4Gb ICs on the kit and has the capability of running at 3666MHz to 3800MHz.
What do you guys think about the memory kit? Do you think it’s worth spending over a hundred grand on this? Well before the reviews come out, let’s just hope it does.
