Samsung to Launch Galaxy Note 5 Next Month, New Report Claims
For the past few months, we have been bombarded with Samsung Galaxy Note 5 rumors. As the weeks have passed by, many of these details about the Galaxy Note 5 specs and its release date have now firmed up, as they emerge directly from the official bodies.
Today, a new report has surfaced online that supports the early Galaxy Note 5 release date theory. According to industry sources, Samsung Electronics is gearing up to launch the Galaxy Note 5 next month ahead of schedule.
The report further claims that the South Korean phone maker has decided to release the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which has a bigger screen than its popular Galaxy S6 Edge model, next month as well, along with the Note 5 launch.
To be exact, Samsung will hold an event in New York on Aug. 12 to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus – much earlier than the start of IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany. This is very exceptional for the company which has been using the IFA trade show for the last four years to announce its Galaxy Note series.
Reports suggest that Samsung decided to move up the launch of Galaxy Note 5 this year, so that it could capture consumers before the release of Apple’s rumored iPhone 6S in September.
Samsung is currently losing ground to Apple’s iPhone 6, and according to industry watchers, the company will take the bet with the Note 5 and the Edge Plus, to deal with the next-gen iPhone. The drop in the price of the Galaxy S6 Edge just three months after release, is also said to be part of the same plan.
