Chinese Tech Blog Manages To Boost Intel i7-6700K Clock To 5.2 GHz On Air Cooling
The wait for a new CPU is always exciting and every bit of information adds to the hype. Intel will soon release its Skylake i7-6700K CPU which is believed to be among the most powerful CPUs.
The new piece of hardware is yet to be released but some Chinese tech bloggers managed to get their hands on it early and have provided us with some very interesting stats.
They managed to overclock the CPU to 5.2GHz and all that with just air cooling. This is highly impressive and something that will make gamers and other heavy users out there very happy.
However, doing something like this is not advisable without a decent cooling solution, preferably a water cooling solution should be used to avoid any hardware damage.
The Chinese blog shared the following image as well, using CPU-Z.
CPU is stated to run at 4.0GHz with a boost clock of 4.2 but its OC reached 5.2. Such a massive overclock is just amazing and has raised our curiosity about this CPU.
A final release date isn’t yet announced but rumors suggest that August 5 is going to be the day Skylake arrives in the market.
We’ll let you know as soon as Intel provides confirmation regarding a release date. Till then, let us know what you think of this massive 5.2 OC of Skylake.
