Mystery Google Product Hits, Could it be Google Glass 2?
An FCC filing went live yesterday and it seems like Google has a new product under construction. The product was filed under FCC ID A4R-GG1 and this product might be Google Glass 2.
The product seems to be a mystery; most of the products in filing are labeled. For example if it is an Android, it will be labeled as ‘smartphone’ and if it is the Oculus Rift it will be labeled as ‘wearable’. However this one is instead termed as ‘BLUETOOTH & DTS/UNII a/b/g/n/ac’ with ‘GG1’ as its model name.
According to Droid Life, this wearable has the latest 802.11 ac wireless adapter paired with the Bluetooth LE module. To cut it short, this new successor brings in faster connectivity between wireless networks. That obviously depends on your router as well, if the router also has 802.11 ac wireless adapter then there won’t be any difficulty.
So this is what confused most of us, the device supports WiFi in 2.4GHz and 5GHz. If this device really is Google Glass 2, it would not need this. However, if it is the Chromecast then 5 GHz can be helpful.
Google GG1 will also feature a set of non-removable, rechargeable batteries. The product will also come with an AC charger and USB cable. The USB cable can be used for charging as well as transferring data. According to the source, it will provide a ‘path for charging and data transfer’.
The price or release date is unknown for now, however the previous Google Glass was expensive, so I wonder if the tech company would stick to its older pricing strategy or not. Stay tuned for more updates!
