Sony Launches First Flight Crowdfunding, E-Commerce Platform in Japan
Start-ups in today’s world often fail because they didn’t get the required attention or funds or a suitable platform to sell their products.
Add Sony’s Seed Acceleration Program to the mix and their newly launched “First Flight” platform and you have a perfect solution.
The Japanese company has announced and launched this new crowdfunding platform that will also provide a healthy e-commerce environment to small companies who are in dire need of the two. Here are some of the features.
- Establish a platform for both crowdfunding and e-commerce
- Preview new business proposals still in the planning phases
- Facilitate ongoing dialogue with customers from initial development through to market introduction, by seamlessly connecting each phase from previewing and crowd funding, to e-commerce
- Provide a key touch-point between early adopters keen to utilize new products or services and support new business projects
For now the program is exclusive to Japan but I think based on the popularity, Sony would consider expanding it to the west as well.
Kazuo Hirai the President and CEO of Sony Corporation said, on this occasion, that since they know what it is to grow up from being a small start-up and understand the passion among new entrepreneurs, the First Flight program is their way of providing a helping hand:
Sony’s innovation is ingrained in the company’s founding spirit of ‘doing what has never been done before.’ Nothing embodies this spirit more than passionate entrepreneurs who give shape to their ground-breaking ideas and introduce them to the world, without fear of failure. The First Flight platform and other Seed Acceleration Program initiatives accelerate and optimize this process. Sony itself originated as a start-up, and through the Seed Acceleration Program we are challenging ourselves to return to our entrepreneurial roots.
Looks like a good idea, doesn’t it?
