Customize Your AMD Radeon R9 Fury X Graphics Card
Yesterday, AMD published a post on its official website named ‘Personalizing your AMD Radeon R9 Fury X graphics card,’ in which it announced the release of a 3D model targeting the audience to customize Radeon R9 Fury X front plate.
The Radeon R9 Fury X is AMD’s single-GPU graphics card and is gaining lots of popularity due to Fiji and HBM stacked with 3D. Those who were taking AMD lightly after Nvidia stepped in should rethink because it is as powerful as GeForce GTX 980 Ti.
This time around AMD is not only working on the performance and GPUs, but also putting in efforts in the industrial design of the product. To give Radeon R9 Fury X a high end look the company has revamped the design and fit it with soft-touch panels and black-nickel plated aluminum.
AMD said in its official blog post:
During the process of creating the industrial design for the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X graphics card we encountered a variety of unique perspectives within AMD on how it should look. These differentiating opinions made us think, what if we could enable our customers to implement their own creativity on our design? To do this we incorporated a removable front plate on the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X graphics card to allow for customer creativity.
AMD mentioned it a while back that they will release CAD models for makers for customizing the front panels of their cards. Something like that has happened already. Although the target audience isn’t huge but this step might win the company some support. Makers can CNC the front plate or get a 3D print over it.
The company also claims that if anything happens to the cards of front panel while removing or changing it, it won’t be replaced or claimed.
