Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Lineup Now Has Cheaper variant of Core i7 Model
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 lineup now has new and cheaper variants of the core i7 model. The upcoming tablet has less onboard storage space as compared to the previous Core i7 processor models.
Consumers have been waiting for Microsoft Surface Pro 3 ever since it was announced as it is lighter in weight compared to a typical laptop but functions almost equally. Microsoft finally added the sixth variant over the weekend in the Surface Pro 3 lineup.
The tablet has 8 GB memory and has 128 GB storage space onboard. It runs on a 1.7GHz Intel Core i7 processor for $1,299. Compared to all previous core i7 processor models, this one is quite love. Previously, the i7s came with two storage options 56GB and 512GB, but this time around it is just one and that too very low.
The other variable has core i5 and has the same price tag i.e. $1,299, but it has 256 GB of onboard storage. This option has perhaps confused the consumers. Which one would you buy? Well, I guess the cut down can be simple, if you like to pick performance over storage then i7 is your pick, but if you want more storage space then you should go for i5.
With the addition of this sixth variant i.e Core i7, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has seven variants.
- Intel Core i3 — 64GB, 4GB RAM – $799
- Intel Core i5 — 128GB, 4GB RAM – $999
- Intel Core i5 — 256GB, 8GB RAM – $1,299
- Intel Core i7 — 128GB, 8GB RAM – $1,299
- Intel Core i7 — 256GB, 8GB RAM – $1,549
- Intel Core i7 — 512GB, 8GB RAM – $1,999
The newly announced variant has Core i7 processor, Intel’s fourth generation Core processor chip, Turbo Boost Technology, Intel 5000 HD chipset, Type Cover, 12 inch screen, 2160x1440p resolution and Windows 8.1.
