PlayStation 4 New Model Unboxed, Watch The Video
Sony Corp revealed a new PlayStation model, stated to be PS4 CUH-1200, a few days ago. The new model is lighter in weight and more power efficient compared to the flagship console, and is also alleged to bring some new radical changes that might have never been experienced before.
Now, the first unboxing video of the updated CUH-1200 model has surfaced online, that shows the power-up along with smaller, elusive LED lights to illuminate the system.
Compared to the glossy finish of the current PS4 model, the reiterated version features a matte HDD bat cover to match the rest of the console. Also, the electro-static touch sensors have been replaced by mechanical buttons to eliminate the chances of unintentionally turning off the console when intented to eject a disc.
These changes might not seem to be huge, but they may sound like a relief for those users who had issues with the capacitive touch and LED light disturbances in the past.
Further, the rated power consumption of the new PS4 is down by 8% from 250W to 230W. Though some users reported that they could see the power drop up to 18% from 148.6W to 122W, while playing Dragon Quest Heroes. Standby power consumption while downloading is also down to just 58W now, as it’s being performed by the APU as usual instead of the secondary processor.
The new 500 GB PS4 CUH-1200 model is now available for purchase across Japan, but but no dates have been mentioned for the western markets. Sony is likely to launch this new console next month in Europe and North America, where it will still carry the standard $399 price tag.
