Motorola Extends Soak Testing To More Smartphones, Android Lollipop Is About To Arrive?
Motorola has included several more models of brand’s smartphones in the Android 5.1 soak test.
The expansion of the soak testing to multiple Motorola handsets hints on the company’s broader plans for final release of the latest Android OS version for whole lot of its smartphones.
According to a Google+ post by Motorola senior director of software product management David Schuster, the firm has extended the soak testing to the following smartphones:
1. First-gen Motorola Moto G LTE variant
2. Second-gen Motorola Moto X subscribed to Verizon wireless networks
3. Second-gen Motorola Moto X Pure-Edition variant
4. First-gen Motorola Moto E in Brazil and India
In addition, according to an updated report by Android Central, AT&T-driven second-gen Moto X has also joined the Android 5.1 soak testing.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Schuster confirmed that Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen) devices were undergoing soak testing in select markets.
“If all goes well we would expect full deployments to start next week,” Schuster wrote to Google+, where he has 5,392 followers. Now after the commencement of soak testing on rather broader level, it is safe to assume that Motorola is not far away from rolling out the final version of Android 5.1.
With Android 5.1, users get fully revamped notification handling, convenient quick settings, improved device protection and so on. Also, the update rectifies several issues found in the previous version of firmware.
