Purify Shows How iOS 9 Adblock Support Works
Apple’s awaited iOS 9 is going to be jam-packed with features and one of them will be support for Ad blocking. You know those annoying pop-ups that make you want to delete your favorite apps sometimes?
The feature was found in the developer documents for iOS 9, which shows support for ad blocking and privacy apps with help from a new API which removes elements from Web views.
The new feature lets developers push a JSON file with rules for popups, images, cookies and more in Safari. However, there is now a new app in development called Purify, that will make use of Apple’s Ad blocking Support.
The app can block ads on both web pages and YouTube videos. The app is being developed by Chris Aljoudi, who was also behind uBlock.
So how will this work? Above you can see a video released by Aljoud, which shows how Purify will run. Currently, the app is in early stages of development but it already looks promising and will be useful for plenty of iOS users. People who choose to download it will get to experience native ad blocking and tracking features.
Purify is without a release date but will arrive sometime this Fall.
Will you be giving Purify a try? Let us know what you think of it in the comments.
