Pebble Time Pre-orders Now Available
Could not participate in the Kickstarter campaign? Well no problem, Best Buy might have a solution for you. The Pebble Time smartwatch preorders have been opened by Best Buy.
Reportedly, the Pebble Time will be up for preoders in white, red and black colors all set at a retail price of $199.99. While the first Pebble smartwatch released two years back, this version is way better. Don’t hate me for saying that the first attempt wasn’t all that amazing.
It is expected that Best Buy will start the shipping procedure in July, although the exact delivery time remains unknown for now. The date can move up or down depending on the target in mind. Pebble has also planned the in-store availability, although when or how has not been made public yet.
Most people would rather skip the Pebble Time when compared to Apple Watch or other Android wearable. However, let’s get one thing straight, this version is better looking, perhaps the best-looking Pebble.
It has a stainless steel bezel framing, thinner than the previous one with a curvy glass as the new display. Don’t get too excited there is no touch feature here. Though they have added the microphone feature for voice functions and it is water proof for up to 30 meters.
It has the standard 22 mm rubber straps which makes strap swapping easy. Although the company has envisioned ‘smartstraps’ that enable GPS and other features but it has not come to reality yet. The display is not amazing either, it looks like a 2004 low res flip phone. Individual pixels can easily be spotted on this one.
As for the hardware, it looks a normal priced digital watch and nothing else.
