Facebook Closing in on YouTube in Terms on Video Ads
Facebook currently has 1.4 billion users while YouTube has 1.3 billion, that right there should tell you the decisions that marketers are going to have to make with regards to advertisements.
However, it is bigger than just options; Facebook is gaining ground in terms of video ads specifically too! This was revealed recently by Ampere Analysis, a London based analytic and research service.
According to them, Facebook is the new winner in the online video ads category which also happens to be the fastest growing category for online advertisements as of now.
While the research states that YouTube is “no longer the only major online video platform,” Mark Zuckerberg’s platform on the other hand is “taking advantage of higher CPMs associated with video. Diversifying its business to minimize churn risks from the purely social elements of its business.”
While Google and Facebook are already competing in major areas, video ads is going to be the forefront now and in that, the latter has an edge too because right now they are the best at making things look relevant.
Moreover, the evolution of communication and related behavior among the audience is best understood by Zuckerberg and his crew which is going to be the foremost aide for them when it comes to actually pushing themselves above YouTube.
Needless to say, Facebook has a greater appeal to the youth than YouTube although I must add that Google’s video service is still the biggest in its own category.
