Windows Phone Reboot Fix Update Now Available in Various Parts of the World
A hotfix for Windows Phone is rolling out in different parts of the world that addresses the random reboot issue that many WP users have been facing in recent times.
The fix was initially released in the US, but now is available in Europe, India, and various other places. Phones such as the Lumia 520, along with the Lumia 525 and the Lumia 620 are getting the updates in India, while the Lumia 520 and 920 updates are being pushed in the UK.
Furthermore, the Lumia 1320 is also getting the hotfix push in Sweden. The update is expected to spread across all the mentioned Nokia Lumia mobile phones in a day or two, but you should definitely check your cellphone for an update right now, as more phones will be receiving the update as time goes on.
The update is meant to get rid of the reboot issues, and will not have any specific or new features that users will take notice of. The update will bump the OS version to 8.10.14234.375 and the firmware version to 02040.00021.15063.02004.
Here is the official statement from Microsoft regarding the update, from their support forum:
“We identified a problem in some versions of Windows Phone 8.1 that could cause a phone to restart periodically. A critical update will fix this problem. If you’re unable to install the update or want to learn more, we can help you fix your phone.”
