Fallout Shelter Beats Candy Crush Saga in iOS App Store Rank And Revenue
One of the highly addictive games of this decade is Candy Crush Saga. Gamers have loved its microtransactions and rewarding gameplay—something substantiated by the game’s consistent dominance over the 4 highest-grossing games of the iOS app store.
However, somewhat surprisingly though, Candy Crush Saga is being outclassed by a novice mobile game called Fallout Shelter. The later has not only snatched the top position from Candy Crush on iOS app store, it has outshined the former in profit generation as well.
During Bethesda’s pre-E3 conference, executive Todd Howard took the stage to announce the Fallout Shelter, the Fallout 4 gameplay reveal trailer, and a special Fallout 4 pip-boy edition.
Despite the official notification saying Fallout Shelter is quite unconventional freemium mobile game without paywall and little in-game transactions, the game has enticed herds of the avid gamers.
The statistics for the just announced Fallout Shelter are rather terrific: on the very first day of becoming available, Fallout Shelter had enlisted itself as the most downloaded free app in all of the US and UK.
As per its ranking on the iOS App Store, Fallout Shelter is currently present at 4th position, while the Candy Crush Saga has been pushed down to 5th. At one point, Fallout Shelter was charted at 3rd position, but it could only maintain the spot till Thursday.
The profit comparison between the above articulated games is based on estimations, as no official figures have been revealed. A news source relates King’s last earnings report, according to which Candy Crush Saga was bagging $2 million per day. With the aforesaid amount in mind, it is safe to assume that the defeater game is certainly making moneybags.
