OnePlus 2 Will Come With ‘Cooler Than Ever’ Snapdragon 810 Processor
OnePlus will use a rather improved version of the Snapdragon 810 in its upcoming OnePlus 2 smartphone. The newer version of SoC from Qualcomm will reportedly prevent OnePlus 2 from overheating issues, found in the previous generation Snapdragon 810.
In a recent blog post, the Chinese firm has discussed the overheating problems of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and has promised to quash the issue by using a new version of Snapdragon 810, v2.1.
“Although there have been reports that the 810 runs warmer than its predecessors, we assure you that we have taken all the necessary precautions and beyond to prevent this from occurring in the 2. We worked very closely with Qualcomm’s engineers to integrate an improved version of the chipset (v2.1) in the OnePlus 2, and fine-tuned both hardware and software. The 2 will be ‘cooler than ever’,” reads the blog post.
According to the Chinese smartphone maker, Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor is coated with thermal gel to diminish the heat. Additionally, graphite is filled in different spots of the mobile; graphite will fritter the heat away.
“After rigorous testing, the 2 meets the industry standard for phone temperature, even with hours of use,” the firm states.
According to a news source, some other smartphone companies are also concerned about the problematic overheating in the first edition of the Snapdragon 810 processor.
Recently, Xiaomi, another popular Chinese smartphone maker said that it was working to build a customized third edition of the Qualcomm’s top-end mobile processor for its Mi Note Pro.
