YouTube Gaming is Another Attempt by Google to Counter Twitch
Love games but cannot find relevant content and live streams of your favorites? Well YouTube Gaming has been announced by Google ahead of the E3 2015 launch.
The new YouTube app will be dedicated to gaming and gaming alone. It is expected to be a full featured gaming website with over 25,000 pages from which you can choose from. You can follow your favorite games, their live streams and content just be typing in the title.
Sure this does seem like a website you might already know about. Any idea? Maybe it starts with a T or something.
For instance if you type ‘EVE Online’ and you decide to follow it, once you hit follow or subscribe you will start receiving news and notifications about the game, be it the content update or upcoming releases. Oculus Rift updates will also be a part of your newsfeed followed by livestream tournaments and what not. Basically it will be everything about Gaming.
Good thing about YouTube Gaming is that it has a refreshing UI, the profile pages matches the video game art’s color scheme.
YouTube Gaming will allow users to go through the official YouTube content coming from YouTube creators in form of game studios or reviews. The users can also look up creator on YouTube who blog specifically about gaming and find unboxing videos, commentary and walkthroughs.
After the latest playback update the feed will now stream at 60 fps in HTML5. Google is giving gamers their own tiny little space with YouTube Gaming in which when they will type “‘call’ will show you ‘Call of Duty’ and not ‘Call Me Maybe,’” says Google.
