First Good Look of Oculus Rift Consumer Version
Oculus Rift has been making a lot of headlines (well, usually with its prototypes and other leaks). Facebook-owned Oculus VR’s consumer version is almost ready to come out. The company has kept the actual images of the head-mounted display (HMD) under the wraps until now.
The company launched their website and buried the images which seem to have been appearing online out of nowhere. The company did not intend to publish these images, however they have unintentionally made it available for the general public to see and enjoy.
These pictures are the first ever images that provide an actual look of how the new Oculus Rift would be like. Many suspected that the Rift may contain a camera or such sort for looking through the head gear. Well it appears to be true, in one of the images the device has a camera at the front with Oculus written on top.
It also comes with headphones and an over head strap, which were highlighted in September 2014. Palmer Luckey confirmed to VR Focus and said that the images are indeed original. However, she did not hesitate from tempting its expected users and asked them to keep an open mind.
This is an old placeholder concept image that we accidentally leaked. Everything in it is ancient, certainly nowhere close to final (as evidenced by the GPU specs and the game named ‘war’). Enjoy checking it out, at this point, but don’t expect everything to carry through to the stream on the 11th.
Oculus Rift VR will have its official specs out on June 11, so wait until then and we will hit you with the official news on the head-mounted display.
