Apple iOS 9 Comes With Plethora of New Features
iOS 9 is the next big thing for Apple, the company announced that the new update for iPads and iPhones has some new major features along with performance and security updates.
First things first, Siri is becoming smarter with each year passing, it is now more contextual and intelligent. According to the official statements Siri now only misses around 5 percent of words and detects words more accurately.
The new Proactive feature suggests a lot more than just the apps based on the kind you already have in your phone. Siri also prompts you to look up contacts and message them based on your upcoming events/meetings.
Craig Federighi showed the audience a demo in which he typed ‘potato’ and potato recipes started to show up, the reason was he had Potluck in his mobile and Siri automatically detected it and showed the results. Apparently if you ask Siri to ‘Show photos from San Francisco last year’ it will display all images taken in San Francisco in the previous year.
Apple Pay is coming to iOS9 along with some major improvements in Maps and Notes. Notes will now have a new toolbar which will make formatting much easier. Maps will now support Public transit (earlier it only supported driving directions).
A new Flipboard lookalike is coming iOS 9 called News, which will manage your newsfeed based on the categories you want to follow and appear as an interactive magazine. The photo galleries will show images in a format called the Photo Mosaics.
The low-power mode claims that it will extend the battery of your iPhone up to three hours which is awesome. Furthermore, you will only need 1.3 GB space to install the newest update.
