Instagram Highlights Coming To Your Emails Soon
Well if it weren’t for four and a half years and 300 million monthly users, we would have never pardoned Instagram for opening seize fire at our email inboxes.
The aging social networking site Instagram’s working model which depends on people browsing and interacting, has hit a high number of users. However, most of the users hardly check their feed and the company is now feeling the need of re-engaging its users by sending them Highlights – email digest.
The highlights feature will show few best photos from the people users are following. This could be a way of attracting users and manipulating them into rechecking their Instagram for what they are missing.
Instagram confirmed it to TechCrunch that this new idea of sending emails is true and it would be the first time the company would be doing any promotional activity.
So what if you do not want to see all these ‘highlights’ emails in your inbox? You can unsubscribe to the service, right? Well most of the companies offer this however, Instagram doesn’t. There is no way of controlling or unsubscribing to this service. It can be frustrating though, seeing updates that you did not even sign up for.
Why do a lot of people sign up for Instagram but later they stop using it? It is probably because of the ‘Unfiltered Feed Problem’. New users start following everyone in the beginning for follow back or for actually following people. However, in the hotchpotch of the ‘extra feed’, users miss out on real and important pictures from their friends and family. Thus leading to a decrease in their usage.
