Amazon Planning to Start A Payment Service In India
India is a massive emerging market which many big organizations are either planning to penetrate, or have done it already. One of these organizations is the highly popular online retailer we all know as Amazon.
The company has already gained traction in India but is now planning to offer more options and services to its users and partners.
According to a new report, the project is currently underway in a beta program. The program in question lets Amazon partner sellers offer Amazon payment options on their official websites.
The service is being introduced as an alternative for PayPal, which offers a payment processing platform to commercial users and vendors.
As we know, PayPal isn’t yet supported by Amazon Payments, which is a subsidiary of Amazon.com. Sources claim that Amazon is testing the “Login and Pay With Amazon” option in the region.
The same feature was made available in the United States back in 2014. This service enables vendors to allows users to login and pay with their Amazon credentials.
Details are limited and nothing is shared by Amazon, so we can’t say for sure what this new service is, or whether Amazon is actually planning to bring it to India.
We will let you know of any and all updates regarding the report, so stay-tuned and let us know of your take on the story down below.
