Android 5.0 Lollipop: HTC One M7 Is The Latest Device To Get OTA Update
Verizon has started releasing Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA update for the HTC One M7 users, according to a tweet by HTC VP Mo Versi.
The operating system up-gradation is, however, currently limited to Google Play Edition devices.
Presumably, Verizon will roll out updates for all editions of HTC One M7. But the wait may become annoying for some of the users who are aware of the fact that their devices are already among the delayed ones to receive updates.
The update is being seeded in a 1GB file. Therefore, if you are looking to receive updates, you need to have your device on a fast WiFi data connection. Plus, your mobile battery should be charged more than 50%. For extra care, it is advised to backup your data and apps.
HTC One M7 will be very pleased to upgrade their devices to modern Lollipop with advanced capabilities. Some of the most important features of the above said latest version of Android OS are: custom settings for notifications, captivating Material Design, new convenient layout to offer quick settings, screen pinning etc.
According to Verizon, it has made following ‘enchantments’ for its carrier-driven HTC One M7 devices:
- HTC EYE Experience is added
- Enhancement of Visual Voice Mail features, including add
note feature, add flag feature, add phone number directly to
CGD group, and adjust transcription area when it is too long
- UI design changes to avoid auto device factory reset after
accidental multiple unsuccessful attempts
- Enhancement to 3-way calling feature
- File manager is added
- Addressed calling issue when dialing +1(202)xxx-xxxx
