Gmail for Android v5.2 Update Brings Non-Gmail Accounts, Contact Cards, And More
Google, best known for rolling out updates and twists every now and then, has updated Gmail app for Android. A couple of notable changes can be seen in the app.
Google+ official post says that they have improved the Gmail for Android to make it more user friendly and it will be rolling out in a couple of days. The update and changes are based on what users have recommended through their feedback.
Over the next few days, you’ll see a few improvements to the Gmail app for Android based on your feedback with more coming soon.
The 5.2 version has revamped Gmail contact display. Now after the update if you tap on the avatar of somebody you have interacted with in the past, a list of information will appear in a contact card form. It will have contact information, recent conversation, photos, Google+ posts and more. So basically it will contain all the information already present at someone’s G+ profile.
The other change is the addition of Microsoft Exchange accounts or the IMAP, which will make adding other accounts more reliable and the process much smoother.
However these are not the only two changes coming to our droids. According to a report by Android Police, Gmail’s mobile app might be bringing two more elements to its mobile app namely Vacation Responder and Unsubscribe Feature, which are both available for desktop version.
The unsubscribe feature will let you keep all the marketing and bulk messages away from your mail with a single click. Vacations Responder on the other hand will allow you to respond to mails automatically for a specific period of time without actually having to be available.
