Facebook Introducing New “For Sale” Page
Facebook is currently testing a new option for its social media behemoth, which introduces a new page that accumulates all items on sale across various user groups.
A search feature is also being added that will allow users to specific the items and categories they are interested in, leaving the page to search through multiple ‘for sale’ groups.
According to a report by TNW, the feature is being tested right now, and will be rolling out live worldwide in the coming weeks.
The page will function just like any other second-hand goods for sale website, with sellers attaching prices, photos, complete descriptions, locations and whatever else they deem necessary for their item listings. Buyers or interested parties on the other hand can also report sellers for suspicion of fraud.
Facebook is strongly working its way to create its own utopia where users have little need to step out. The company has been tweaking with search engines to dwindle the need for Google, and now is taking on popular marketplaces like eBay and Craiglist.
We reported earlier this year that the company has begun allowing users that are a part of ‘buy and sell’ groups to attach prices, locations, photos and descriptions to posts about items for sale. Now, it’s taking the tool to the next level. It’s important to note that selling goods directly on Facebook avoids fees associated with third party sites.
