MediaTek Ready to Put 10 Processor Cores in New Smartphones
It is official; Taiwanese chipset maker MediaTek has announced that it is ready to make our Smartphones run like young horses. Yes I know I might have exaggerated it but 10 processor cores, two of which are Cortex A72 can give horses one hell of a competition.
The Helio X20, MT6797 will be using a 64 bit deci-core processor, I mean who on earth needs 10 processors while the best of the apps support a maximum of four processors. The developers have gone too far this time in hopes of introducing something new and different.
The first four cores are 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 which are used for the very basics of the phone, minor processes. Followed by another four 2GHz Cotex-A57 cores for more complex and demanding works. While the last two processors are there to provide the smartphones with full horsepower clocked at 2.5GHz Cortex-A72 cores.
There are always a few downsides to the most awesome of things as well. The MT6797 is giving users 10 processors but it is stuck with some old and slow supporting parts. It supports the 993MHz LPDDR3 RAM and has LTE Cat-6 whereas Samsung has already found a way and cracked the LTE Cat-9 support system and works with 1600MHz LPDDR4 RAM which is much faster.
The Helio X20 supports 25 megapixel camera and Native3D 2.0 technology for taking 3-D images. It has a strong spec sheet that uses ARM Mali-T880 MP4 graphics chip and 2560 x 1600 screen resolution. The Helio X20, MT6797 is giving Samsung and other top Smartphone brands a tough competition in terms of the technological advancement and the lower price range.
