Read Apple Watch Repair Guides To Know How To Fix And Replace Its Components
On the very first day when Apple Watch became available, some experts at iFixit welcomed the wearable by tearing it down. But that was done with purpose. The iFixit experts had opined on the machinery of the gadget, and now they have released first repair manual for Apple’s precious wearable.
The guides explain the process for replacing screen, NFC antenna, and battery; and in addition to this, they enlighten about the techniques for replacing adhesives during repairing activity.
The guider warns repairers that NFC antenna is greatly vulnerable to damage. Thus, they should be careful while opening the watch.
“Unfortunately, opening up your Apple Watch may damage the NFC antenna, which also serves as a gasketing seal. The antenna is made up of two layers, glued together. These layers may separate when you open your watch, compromising its seal after reassembly. If this happens, you’ll need to repair or replace your antenna before reassembling your watch.”
If the screen of the watch needs to be repaired or replaced, you need to disconnect the battery. Don’t forget to replace the adhesives later. Quoting from the guide: “Opening your Apple Watch will destroy the adhesive that keeps it together. Finish every repair by replacing the adhesive and following the reassembly guide shown here.”
You may also consider iFixit’s offering of a tri-point screw driver, company’s handmade product which is being considered as indispensable for replacing adhesives. The company is planning to offer replacement parts “soon” as 9to5Mac puts it, and a tool kit for Apple Watch repairing.
