Only 5% of 40 Million Business Pages Are Active Advertisers On Facebook
Who isn’t on Facebook? Almost everyone I know, almost everyone you know, is on the platform. The social media website has become a digital home away from home.
A platform that keeps us connected with our friends and family. Because getting up and talking to them in person is just too mainstream.
The presence of so many homosapiens on Facebook gives businesses an opportunity to advertise and attract new customers. According to the company, there are 40 Million business pages on its website.
Unfortunately for Facebook, businesses increase their fan-base without even using advertising. The company says there are only 2 million pages that are active advertisers.
This is particularly interesting considering the decline in reach of organic posts on the platform.
Jonathan Czaja, director of small business for North America, says having a page on Facebook isn’t just about posting content and pushing it to the reader. He says having a strong presence on Facebook is a “powerful asset.”
Facebook is planning to hold new events for small business in the country, while those who advertise are getting one-on-one chat support from Facebook as customer support. Czaja said:
We’ve got hundreds of reps worldwide providing both email and chat support. We intend to grow that dramatically in the coming years.
This feature was long overdue as small business pages wanted live support. Before this, they would have sent an email and wait/hope for a reply.
The program is being rolled out in the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland in the coming months.
