Google Glass 2.0 Has Been Confirmed To Be In Production
Google does not easily give up on its products, but it looked like Google Glass was an exception. Now we are proved wrong in doubting Google’s determination as it has been confirmed that Google Glass 2.0 is in its production stage.
The search giant has not given its word yet, but Massimo Vian, CEO of Luxottica Product and Operation, confirmed the on-going production of Google Glass version 2. Vian did not disclose any time frame in which we can expect to see the device on consumers’ heads.
The next version of Google Glass has new features like sleep mode, which saves battery by going into sleep/power-efficient mode. It is also reported to come with improved sound quality and a better display. Another good news is that it is expected to have a lower price tag.
Google Glass 2.0 is also expected to be powered by Intel but there is no official word on this yet. The rumors emerged following Luxottica’s deal with the chip-maker. The deal is aimed at making fashionable smart glasses.
Google is silent about its next version of Google Glass, but recently the company’s filing at the FCC has revealed a “smart Bluetooth Low Energy device,” which is expected to be related to Google Glass.
Google halted the production of Google Glass last year and many believed that the company had given up on the device. But sooner the reports emerged that a new version of Google Glass was in works. It was also leaked earlier that it would come with Intel inside. All of these rumors have been confirmed now.
Now we are yet to get a release date and some official word from Google to see what new features it has to offer.
