Sony Xperia P2, An International Version Of The Japan-Only Xperia Z4?
Some reports, based on a fresh leak about the specs and images of the Sony Xperia P2, are suggesting that the device in question can be an international version of the Sony Xperia Z4 — the phone which Sony launched this month in Japan.
No major announcement was made in Japan about the launch of Z4. Sony just announced the launch via a blog post on its local site. Meaning, international potential buyers were left to wait.
If the recent rumors are believed, that wait might be over as the Xperia P2 is set to be offered to international market. The phone features the same 5.2-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM.
The major components are same but there are certain differences which distinguish the two smartphones. Looking at the leaked snaps of the P2, we realize that it has more compact dimensions as compared to Z4.
The P2 is 10.9mm at its thickest point in contrast to 6.9mm Xperia Z4, which can be disliked by some of the buyers. But this can be compensated with the bigger 4240mAh battery, it encases.
As far as the camera is concerned, the Z4 seems the winner with 20.7MP rear camera as compared to 12.1MP snapper of the P2. Why would Sony incorporate a smaller camera than 20.7MP lens?–something which has become Sony’s standard for most of the flagships. It’s hard to answer until now. Whatever, P2 carries 5.1 MP front lens, enough for stunning selfies.
The Xperia P2 will offer 32 GB of internal storage. The leaks leave no clues about the microSD card slot option.
