Facebook Hello is Their New Dialer App for Android
We recently shared with you news regarding a new dialer app that Google is allegedly developing. However, they are not the only ones working on it. Revolutionizing how we make calls is something that many big guns are working on including Yahoo and Facebook!
While we don’t know about Yahoo’s project so far and Google is also keeping things quiet with their plans, Facebook on the other hand has launched Hello, their very own dialer for Android.
Andrea Vaccari a Product Manager at the social media giant took to the official Newsroom of the company and explained what exactly is the app about.
Today we are starting to test Hello, a new app built by the Messenger team. Hello connects with Facebook so you can see who’s calling, block unwanted calls and search for people and places. When you get a call, Hello will show you info about who’s calling you, even if you don’t have that number saved in your phone. You will only see info that people have already shared with you on Facebook.
One of the things that Google and Yahoo are also aiming to cover is letting people search for other people and businesses though the dialer even if they don’t have their numbers stored. Facebook Hello is also going to let you do that.
Lastly, it lets you block certain numbers or generally let you direct that commonly blocked numbers don’t get to call you. Facebook Hello app is now available on the Play Store and you can download it for testing.
