OnePlus Cyanogen OS 12 Update Halted to Add “OK” Feature
Alright that title might look a little vague at first but trust me it is not. The story is as simple as the meaning you get from that title. The mobile manufacturers who recently started rolling out the latest operating system for the OnePlus mobiles have suddenly stopped the updates.
The reason for the halt, as revealed by Carl Pei the co-founder of the mobile making company, was as meagre as the addition of one feature.
Pei was referring to the feature in question as “OK OnePlus” feature which actually allows the users of the smartphone to access some addition features. It is actually a voice command that works similar to Google voice search and apparently, it will be accessible even when the phone is is sleep mode.
He took to his official Twitter profile saying that the “OTA rollout was paused due to new “OK OnePlus” feature being added. Should resume mid-week.”
However, he realised later that it sounds really weird for a whole OS update to go live with such mismanagement the developers weren’t even sure what to add in the Cyanogen OS 12 and what not to add. This is probably the reason why the tweet has now been removed.
The OnePlus update had gone live on April 14 and only some of the users had been able to download and use it. Naturally many of you will be waiting for it, but rest assured you will get it soon. Pei himself has said that it will bee back on by mid-week, so it is just a few more days.
