Nikon Might Release Mirrorless, Full Frame Camera
The last time we talked about Nikon was when something incredulous was suggested by the company itself. A notice sent out by the camera manufacturer had asked the users to get their cameras verified for authenticity – apparently the risk of being deceived with a fake camera is so high!
This time however, we have a rumor at hand regarding what could be a future product of the company.
According to NikonRumors, there is a possiblity that Nikon would soon launch a new camera that will be mirrorless and full frame.
Some of the highlights that have been reported with regards to the alleged new model suggest that it will be small in size; an example of the Olympus E-M1 was given to let us get an idea of the size. Moving on it is being rumored that the camera will come with no EVF and a regular F mount.
If the reports are to be believed, the mirrorless/ mirrorless styled Nikon camera is currently being field tested – that would mean a lot has already been done!
Last but not the least, the rumors suggest that you should not expect to hear of an official announcement anytime sooner than the last quarter of 2015 or the first quarter of 2016.
A recently filed patent for a 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 VR full frame mirrorless lens by Nikon also suggests that there is some truth in the rumors that are circulating the internet; but as always, it will be wise to take all these claims with the proverbial grain of salt – until official word comes in.
