Tumblr 4.0 Comes To iOS With New Blogging, Video And Search Features
Tumblr for iOS has been painted with a makeover, which comes with an updated icon, new video posting features and much more.
The icon has been updated to match with the blue and white “T” which is featured on the website.
You can now create secondary blogs from within your phone, along with the ones you created originally. You can also submit your articles to blogs that are asking for submissions, increasing the content of the service as a whole.
One of the most anticipated features has also been launched with this release of Tumblr, where you can also drop in a video URL to add videos to your blogs, making your content more engaging and credible.
Tumblr has also introduced filtered search, which was added into the browser version recently. This feature enables you to search for specific content, even images and videos. Other features imported from the browser version are the sticky search bar and avatars, which remain on the screen even when you scroll below.
You can also add widgets to see what is trending on the site with a simple swipe. However, you will have to add the widget yourself, with the following method instructed on Tumblr:
1. Swipe down from anywhere to open your widget screen;
2. Scroll down the bottom of the “Today” tab;
3. Tap “Edit,” then tap “Trending on Tumblr.”
After that, you’re good. Good forever.
