Sony Xperia Z lineup Recieves Android 5.0.2 Lollipop
Now it’s Sony’s turn to update its Xperia Z lineup — devices including Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z3 Dual — with Android 5.0 Lollipop via OTA (Over-The-Air).
Sony Mobile announced software rollout on Monday.
The new update with build number 14.5.A.0.242 will promise a lot of new features, as the logic suggests too. Above all, ART will replace Dalvik to extend battery life of the smartphones along with inclusion of other capabilities. New design language of the update is expected to bring interactive user interface. By same token, the update will be reflective of lot of improvements made in graphics.
The devices that will receive the update will enable users to share apps from phone flash memory to SD card. Additionally, users will get an option of multi-user profiles.
According to the announcement, Google mobile OS will be installed into single and double SIM variants of Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 across the globe during next week, followed by release of more updates for original Xperia Z series.
“After that, it’s the original Xperia Z Series; Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z – starting in a few weeks time… stay tuned, as we’ll announce the rollout launch right here [official Blog],” reads Sony Blog.
Sony has already confirmed that its Xperia Z Ultra GPE (Google Play Edition), Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Tablet, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia Z2 Tablet will receive new OS software by end of 2015.
