Apple Watch US Pre-Orders Estimated at 1M On Launch Day
Apple Watch is Apple of millions of Eyes in the US where 957,000 people registered their names to get their hands on the gadget, suggests the research company Slice Intelligence.
Apple Watch has indeed received a very warm welcome from the ardent Apple fans and first time potential buyers, of the Cupertino company’s product, alike. And this is despite all those mixed reviews about the watch.
Since Apple has started offering pre-orders, an unseen interest of the buyers has emptied the stocks. For example in China, the complete stock of the Apple Watch was sold out in less than an hour. The massive surge in would-be buyers even led to extension of the shipping time period. Now the Apple Watch won’t be displayed in the Market until April 24. But this hasn’t enfeebled buyers zeal for purchasing the Apple device.
It would be interesting to know how the buyers’ response varies in different regions of the world. Similarly, response of those geeks who have not placed orders or could not do so would mean a lot for Apple Watch’s overall sales once it rolls out for active purchasing.
Whatever those final statistics turn out to be, present figures from Slice substantiate that Apple Watch has already got a great start. Its sales of one day in the US only are greater than Android Wear’s all sales in 365 days of 2014.
Slice generated data from 2 million online shoppers–a majority of whom, well above 60%, ordered for low-end Apple Watch Sport model. If we talk in terms of colors, black stood the champion with 64% selections. While white, blue, green and pink versions, were opted by 22%, 6%, and 4% respectively.
