Periscope Users Streaming Game of Thrones Threatened by Twitter
If you are a Periscope user and you got so excited with the Game of Thrones Season 5 premiere that you streamed the episode on your account, you might be in trouble!
Firstly, a representative of Presicope said that “anyone who violates the terms of service will be suspended or shut down.”
Persiscope is a pretty popular social streaming website that goes head to head with Meerkat and as we all know streaming such videos accounts to piracy – a plague that has been eating at the revenues of Game of Thrones more than any other show.
Twitter owns Periscope and would definitely want to curb such a use of their service. and a Twitter spokesperson explained that to Mashable by saying that in case of infringement, the said accounts could be suspended.
“We reserve the right to remove content alleged to be infringing without prior notice and at our sole discretion. In appropriate circumstances, Periscope will also terminate a user’s account if the user is determined to be a repeat infringer.”
So yeah, watch Game of Thrones but don’t get so excited that you land up with your accounts being suspended.
