Okay so we are all pretty excited about what the future is going to bring in terms of technology and whatnot. One thing that even the non-tech savvy users are interested in is the future of smartphones – what they will look like, how they will work and so on.
On that front, we have all seen movies with mobile phones or tablets that are all-glass, well Apple has already patented that. We have also seen super sci-fi movies with the protagonists strapping a mobile on their wrist like a bracelet – guess what, Samsung just filed a patent application for that.
According to a report by Patently Mobile, it is going to be an OLED bracelet that will also be able to straighten itself and work as a usual mobile.
The screen of the would be smartphone is going to be made of individual segments that is going to let is be flexible, also it is being boasted that the device will have communications as well as multimedia functionalities, so it will be a complete smartphone.
Moving on, the patent filing suggests that there will be rotating screen to adjust with the position your arm is in.
If you read up on a recent article I wrote on an Aluminium battery created some researchers, you would know that that battery could come into use with this Samsung smartphone because the team that created the battery boasted that it was bendable.
Couple that with the said battery’s ability to get charged in 60 seconds and retain life for 7500 charge-discharge cycles and you are got a fully functional futuristic smartphone at your hands!
All this is pretty exciting, but it is just one of the many patent applications filed by Samsung for now; stay tuned for some solid news on this!
