Popcorn Time Launches iOS Standalone App For Torrent Video Streaming
There were days when videos and movies were bought from the retailer or authorized sharing companies. Then came torrents, distrupting everyone’s lives with its ease of use and free content sharing. If you think that was the end of it, enter Popcorn Time, the online video streaming service often called the “Netflix for pirates.”
Now Popcorn Time is about to set another chaos in the mobile device industry, as it has launched a standalone iOS app for its video-streaming service. There will be no need for the users to jailbreak the device and install the app, as it will allow easy streaming of content straight away to your iPhone.
The iOS version is in beta form and has been launched today, by a separate team of the Popcorn Time arena. However, the app is not yet available in the App Store because of Apple’s glaring eyes when it comes to pirated material. Worry not, the developers have worked around this bump in the road and let you download the app through a Windows PC.
Popcorn Time started out in 2014 and has already garnered a huge user base because of the adhoc video streaming through torrents. You can simply select a movie or TV show of your choice and let the streaming go about seamlessly as it gets chunks of the content from various sources instead of overloading just one centralized source.
