LG Leaks Apple Will Launch iMac 8K Resolution in 2015!
We have seen the evolution in screen resolutions in the recent times. From the once famous HD to FHD 1K and then on to 4K resolutions which actually are a sought after thing these days.
However, it appears that the big guns in the industry are planning to double up on everything as soon as they can!
If an explainer published by LG at their Display Newsroom is to be believed, Apple is already knee deep in the process of bringing us 8K monitors.
Why should LG’s word be considered important and why can they officially state something like that? Well, it is because LG Display is actually the biggest display partner of Apple.
Here’s an excerpt from the press release that was made:
It has become clear that Japan is planning to launch an 8K SHV test broadcast and then promptly restructure the UHD service. Apple has also announced that they will release the ‘iMac 8K’ with a super-high resolution display later this year. Korea is also preparing to offer an 8K service demonstration at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. LG Display displayed a new beacon of the 8K era by revealing their 98-inch 8K Color Prime Ultra HDTV at CES 2015.
This is interesting because so far Apple has said nothing related to an iMac 8K as well as their plans t bring 8K displays into the market.
LG itself, however, has shown off 8K monitors in Las Vegas at CES.
It could be that they are well aware of what is to come in the future Apple products but simply let it slip before the right time. What do you think?
